The Ruling on Wearing Socks That Have Pictures- Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad

Question: Are pictures that are on socks considered despised?

Answer: “If a person is buying socks, he buys something that does not have pictures. Then he is not in need of this question. When he buys socks he should avoid pictures, so he would not be in need of this question. Without doubt it is despised. However, it is necessary that pictures are not apparent on the socks nor on other things. While buying [socks], he should not buy it [i.e. socks with pictures]. However, if he is afflicted by it then he uses them and without doubt it is despised, similar to the one who produces it”.
