Ruling on Speaking after the Remembrances for Sleep – Shaikh Yahya Ibn Ali al-Hajoori

Question: Is it established that the one who reads the remembrances for sleep should not speak after it?

Answer: In some remembrances for sleep, such as in the Hadith,:

واجعلها آخر ما تقول

And make them the last words you say

[Reported by al-Bukhari no. 247]

So it is learnt from this that if a person goes to his bed, then says the remembrances for sleep, then follows it with speech and becomes busy from these remembrances by something other than sleep, that he should repeat his remembrances for sleep.
