Should the Remembrances of the Prayer Be Read After the Friday Prayer? – Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan

Question: Are there specific remembrances (Adhkaar) recited after the Friday prayer? Is the Hadith about reciting the Mu’awadhatayn and Ayatul-Kursi seven times after the Friday prayer authentic?

Answer: “The Friday prayer does not have specific remembrances that are said after it. It is only said after the Friday prayer what is said after the remaining prayers from remembrances. In terms of seeking forgiveness three times after the salutations, then saying:

O Allah, You are the Grantor of security, and security comes from You. You are Blessing, O You Who have majesty and nobility

There is no God worthy of worship except Allah; He is One. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him is all praise, and He is Powerful over all things. There is no power and might except with (the help of) Allah. There is no God worthy of worship except Allah and we worship none except Him, to Him belongs the bounty and to Him belongs the grace, and to Him belongs all excellent praise; there is no deity but Allah. We reserve our devotion exclusively for Him though the disbelievers may detest it)

Or other than that of what is reported. Then he glorifies Allah thirty three times, praise Allah three three times, and exalt Allah thirty three times. Then he says to complete one hundred:

There is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner with Him. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent

And he says:

O Allah! None can deny that which You bestow and none can bestow that which You hold back; and the greatness of the great will be of no avail to them against You

If he recites surah Ikhlas and the Mu’awadhatayn after that once, then it is good. As for repeating it seven times, then I do not know an origin for it. He only repeats these suwar three times after fajr prayer and after maghrib prayer as it is recommended for him to say after Fajr and after Maghrib:

There is no god worthy of worship except Allah. He is One and He has no partner with Him, His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent.

Ten times. He also says:

My Lord protect me from the Fire

Seven times due to the Ahaadith reported regarding that”.
