He is the best of this Ummah after our Prophet (\ufdfa)\u00a0\u00a0then next to him is Abu Bakr as-Sideeq. Also, it is confirmed he is a Companion because he saw the Prophet (\ufdfa)\u00a0\u00a0in the night of Mi&#8217;raj and he was alive. So it is said: Who is better than Abu Bakr as-Sideeq in this Ummah according to consensus? It is &#8216;Isa ibn Maryam alayhi salam. &#8216;Isa is a Prophet\u00a0so he is better than Abu Bakr according to consensus and he is a\u00a0member\u00a0of this Ummah and also a Companion. This is because he witnessed the Prophet (\ufdfa)\u00a0\u00a0on the night of Mi&#8217;raj. The definition of a Companion is: whoever met the Prophet (\ufdfa), believed in him, and died upon Islam. This is a Companion. Even if he had one glance [upon the Prophet]. The younger Companions who the Prophet (\ufdfa)\u00a0\u00a0did <em>Tahneek<\/em> for [i.e chewing a\u00a0date in his mouth and placing it into their mouth], they are Companions [as well]&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>[<a href=\"https:\/\/portal.shrajhi.com\/Media\/ID\/7038\">https:\/\/portal.shrajhi.com\/Media\/ID\/7038<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translator&#8217;s Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Imam Dhahabi rahimahullah said:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Isa ibn Maryam alayhi salam is a Prophet and Companion. This is because he\u00a0saw the Prophet (\ufdfa)\u00a0\u00a0in the night of Isra wal-Mi&#8217;raj and gave him greetings. So he is the last Companion to die<\/strong>&#8220;.
