Question: If a person supplicates to his Lord, the Exalted, the One Capable of all things, to make him more knowledgeable than Shaikh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah. Is this considered transgression in supplication?
Answer: This is not transgression in supplication.
Allah says:
To each these as well as those We bestow from the Bounties of your Lord. And the Bounties of your Lord can never be forbidden.
[17:20]
And Allah says:
That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty.
[57:10]
