Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan (may Allah preserve him) said regarding the recent attempt of the Houthis to destroy the Ka’bah:
“The Houthis who shot a missile towards Makkah are upon the legacy of the tyrants and the false gods (الطواغيت). Allah, the Exalted protects His house. They are only harming themselves and exposing themselves. They claim Islam, but Allah is exposing them with this crime, which is a Sunnah (tradition) established by Abraha, the Abyssinian, the filthy one. Allah, the Exalted exposed them and invalidated their claim to Islam. This house is under His protection and His observance because it is the House of Allah. It was called al-‘Ateeq because Allah freed it from the tyrants who want to do evil with it. As the statement goes: “history repeats itself”. These people have repeated the history of Abraha, the Abyssinian, by sending this missile. What occurred to Abraha has occurred to them. Allah repelled their plot and made it go astray, protected the Ancient House, and exposed them”.
