Will a Person Be Rewarded For Loving What the Prophet (ﷺ) Loved? – Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbaad

Question: Is this Legislated love which it is Sunnah to follow as comes in the Hadith: “The most beloved clothing to him (ﷺ) was the Qamees“? Is a person rewarded for this action?

Answer: “No doubt, it is necessary for a Muslim to love whatever was beloved to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). As it comes from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said:

فما أحببت الدباء إلا يومئذٍ

I did not love pumpkin/squash except after that day

[Muslim no. 2041].

That is: when he saw the Prophet (ﷺ) loved pumpkin/squash and was eager for it,  Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) loved it and was eager for it. So no doubt a person is rewarded for that and everyone will have that which they intend”.
