Lines of Poetry on the Order of the Marriage of the Wives of the Prophet (ﷺ)- Shaikh Fath al-Qadasi

“The order of the marriage of wives of the Prophet (ﷺ), the guide / Is the following as come to us in Zaad [al-Ma’ad of Ibn al-Qaayim]

He (ﷺ) began marriage with Khadeejah, [so] reflect / Then Sawdah, ‘Aisha, Bint Umar (Hafsah)

Bint Khuzaimah (Zaynab), then Hind (Umm Salamah), Zaynab [bint Jahsh], / Bint al-Haarith (Juwayriyah) and then Ramlah (Umm Habibah), write [it down]

[Then] Safiyyah and Maymoonah. With them both it finishes / It was said [the Prophet (ﷺ) married] ar-Rayhaanah but it is not established [that he did]

Maariyah, I mean by that al-Qibtiyyah / They (the Scholars) didn’t mention her because she was from the slave girls
