The Ruling on Wiping Over the Shoes- Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad

Question: In the Hadith that the Prophet (ﷺ) wiped on his socks and shoes*. So if I want pray, do I remove my shoes?

Answer: “There is no harm in this because the shoes follow [the ruling] of the socks”.

*The Hadith in reference is the following:

عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْجَوْرَبَيْنِ وَالنَّعْلَيْنِ 

Narrated Al-Mughirah ibn Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed ablution and wiped over the socks and shoes.
