Ruling on Using Social Media to Call to Allah with the Intention of Giving it as Charity to the Deceased- Shaikh Salih al-Fawzaan

Question: Assalamu Alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. My Question to the shaikh is: there is a service on the social media networks called Instagram or Twitter. It is, Oh Shaikh Salih, used to broadcast everything that is placed on it through the communication devices. Is placing verses of the Quran or Ahaadith of the Prophet (ﷺ) or admonishments or words of remembrance or supplications on these services with the intention of giving it as charity to the deceased for reward a legislated affair and permissible?

Answer: “Alaykum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Yes, spreading good, spreading knowledge benefits the deceased by the permission of Allah if he makes the reward for him or dedicates the reward to him. This is because it is a righteous action. However, it is necessary to protect the verses of the Quran and Ahaadith from websites that mix between good and evil and mix between pure and filthy. The verses of the Quran and Ahaadith are not placed except in befitting places. And to protect them from dishonor or triviality and mixing it with other than it from what is not befitting. Yes”.
