The Ruling on Eating Animals That are Fed Animal Remains and Chemically-Enhanced Fodder – Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad

Question: The feed these days in some companies is made of remnants of other slaughtered animals, from blood and stomach and other than that of straw fodder. Then it is manufactured and treated with chemical material and this material assists in the growth of animals like chickens and the likes?

Answer: “If this meat is from dead animals, then it is not allowed because dead animals are impure and not allowed to be fed to human beings nor animals. If the chickens are fed something impure from dead animals, then it is not allowed. If it is fed things that are not impure, but it has something of filth, but it is not impure, then this does not affect it”.
