The Ruling on Praying with the Turban or Shamaagh Untied – Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad

Question: The turban or Shamaagh which some of them wear when praying. They let its ends hang when going into ruku’. Is this considered from from (sadl)?

Answer: “No, this is not from it because sadl is only in something that leads to harm. Like a person, who has an upper garment so due to sadl it falls. As for a person who has on a Qamees, ghutrah, mashlah (outer cloak) and he does not hold back its ends or tie its ends or he does not gather them together, then that does not affect [him or the prayer]”
