Shaikhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah on the Christmas Eve

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah said:

“… From that is what many people do during the winter on the twenty fourth of December claiming that it is the birth of ‘Isa alayhi salam. All of what they innovate in it is from the evil actions, like lighting fire, preparing food, and lighting candles and the like of that. For taking this Christmas as a festival is from the religion of the Christians and does not have an origin in the religion of Islam. And this Christmas does not have a mentioned origin in the life time of the Salaf who passed, rather its origin is taken from the Christians
