Ruling on Display Screens in the Masjid – Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan

Question: Oh virtuous Shaikh, May Allah facilitate for you [good], what is the ruling on placing display screens at the back of the Masaajid to display Ahaadith and some rulings to benefit the people?

Answer: “No, display screens  and writing should not be placed in the masjid and nor should posters/banners be hung. The masjid is free from all these distracting affairs. The salaf did not hang papers of the remembrances for after prayer. Have the people reached a level of ignorance to this extent? The common-folk know what to say after the prayer. They meet each other, they learn, from practice. There is no need to write on boards/banners and hang them in front of the people. This is from amusement and innovation inside the masjid. Yes.”
