Fatawa

Are the general folk of Europe and other than them from the People of Fatrah – Shaikh Muqbil ibn Haadi al-Wadi’ee

Question: Are the disbelievers in France, Britain, America, and other than them considered from the people of the Fatrah [those who died between the Prophethood] although they have something of knowledge and awareness of Islam? So for example, they know that the Two Testimonies and prayer are from the five pillars etc. and the Allah is one. So what is the ruling?

Answer: The people differ in this and disbelievers differ in this. So from them is he who knows the reality of Islam, so he is not considered from the people of Fatrah.

And from them is one who does not know the reality of Islam and he does not know the Prophet (ﷺ). I think that the brother asking lives among people who have knowledge of history, otherwise, it will be found in the lands of the disbelievers the one who dies not knowing anything about Islam. He does not know about the Prophet (ﷺ) anything. They do not know except repulsion from Islam and hatred for it [in] the European society or other than it.

So for the likes of these we hope they are included in Allah’s statements:

وَمَا كُنَّا مُعَذِّبِينَ حَتَّى نَبْعَثَ رَسُولاً

And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger (to give warning).

[17:15]

And

وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِلَّ قَوْماً بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَاهُمْ حَتَّى يُبَيِّنَ لَهُم مَّا يَتَّقُونَ

And Allah will never lead a people astray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them as to what they should avoid

[9:115]
