Ruling on Entering Barber shops- Shaikh Ibn ul-Uthaymeen

Question: A man has a barber shop, is entering it haram or halal?

Answer: “Cutting hair is allowed except for shaving the beard. Didn’t we say that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

إن الله إذا حرم شيئاً حرم ثمنه

Verily if Allah makes something Haram, he makes its price haram

[Reported in Sunan Abu Dawod and graded Saheeh by Al-Albani in Saheeh Abi Dawood no. 3488]

Everything that is haram is haram to take a compensation for it, rather by selling or renting or other than that. Even the owner of the barber shop, which he rents to a person, it is haram upon him to shave the beard”.
