What Should One Do When There are Few People of Knowledge in His Area or None at All ? – Shaikh Ibn ul-Uthaymen

Question: We are in a city built within a Military city. We are lacking in knowledge-based lessons. We hope for advice from your Eminence.

Answer: “Now, All praise is due to Allah, there is no excuse for anyone. Tapes travel the distance of the night and day. It is possible for a person to take a scholar from the Scholars he trusts and listen to his tapes as if he is sitting with him. So I direct you take the tapes of the scholars you choose and Allah does not burden a soul more than it can bear.

As for the small amount of Scholars, then we complain to Allah that the Scholars a few in every place. Even the cities now do not have a sufficient number, they need a [large] number of Scholars.

However, we ask Allah azza wa Jal to put blessings in them. All praise is due to Allah, now the affairs of these tapes have expanded. Also, people have recently begun to request telelinks: lectures or meetings or what resembles that. There is a lot of good in them. It is possible for you to request one of the Scholars whom you trust to arrange for you, for example, a monthly meeting or weekly meeting or biweekly meeting and there will be good in it”.
