Question: A letter has reached us from one of the sisters saying: oh Virtuous Shaikh Salih: What is your advice for sisters who participate on social media networks? These sisters describe their situation as divorced or unmarried or married and they want to bring benefit by connecting with the people?
Answer: “All praise is due to Allah Lord of the worlds and may the peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, his family, and his Companions all together. These means, social media, have many evils and in them is great dangers. It is a means to spread evil, lies, and intimidation. So it is upon the Muslim to avoid it and stay away from it and connect by other means: through the cellphone, telephone, a meeting. And by other than that from the affairs, which the purpose is reached and the evils are not obtained”.
