The Ruling on Drinking from the Mouth of a Transparent Bottle – Shaikh Abdul-Mushin al-‘Abbad

Shaikh Abul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad hafidhuhallah said:

“The prohibition in drinking from watering skins is in regards to watering skins which are used more than once. As for some drinks that are in a bottle and a person drinks it himself, then there is no harm in it. It is in most cases pure and clean. Also, in most cases what is in a transparent bottle can be seen. If there is something in it of mass which is feared from or something of filth, then it is clear to him from inside. If a person drinks from a bottle by himself, then there is no harm in it because he drinks it and the drink does not harm anyone as long as it is specific for him. Imam Shawkani mentioned in Nayl al-Awtaar from some Scholars that if this watering skin is transparent such as it is known what is inside, then there is no harm in drinking from it. That is because it is safe from an animal coming out of it…”
