The Ruling on Visiting Family Members Who Are People of Innovation – Shaikh Yahya ibn Ali al-Hajoori

Question: I have brothers who are secularists, socialists, and from the Muslim brotherhood. They do not love me visiting them because I advise them at times. I am rough with them in speech, so am I sinful if I boycott them?

Answer: “If you see that visiting them is something of benefit, then visit them and advise them. Be lenient with these disobedient ones, except in that which is necessary. If you see there is no benefit in your visit and they do not like you visiting them, then avoid them”.
