This is a clarification from Darussaafi in regards to the fatawaa of Ibn-Jibreen, may Allah forgive him, which are posted on our blog. We at Darusaafi do not follow the manhaj of Ibn Jibreen nor do we believe that he was Salafi, but rather a Hizbi Ikhwaani. Therefore, we are now taking down all the fatawaa of Ibn Jibreen on our blog inshallah.
Some of his fatawaa on contemporary issues were posted our blog because I (Faisal ibn Abdul Qaadir ibn Hassan) believed him to be from Ahlul Sunnah, and then he changed later on in his life by his sons who are Hizbis. This opinion was based on the following fatwa of Shaikh Muqbil rahimahullah:
“Ibn Jibreen is a virtuous man from Ahlul Sunnah hafidhuhallah, except I was informed that his children are with the Hizbis. So sometimes they pull him towards the Hizbis..”.
[Found here: https://www.muqbel.net/fatwa.php?fatwa_id=204 ]
However, I came to know that shaikh Muqbil rahimahullah returned from that stance as Shaikh Yahya ibn Ali al-Hajoori hafidhuhallah wrote:
“17. Ibn Jibreen a Hizbi with the Ikhwaan ul-Muslimeen as our shaikh ‘Allamah Waadi’ee clarified that about him”
[Taken from the book Shar’iatul Nusuh wa zajar wa tahtheer min Du’aatul jahl
wat- tahazzub wat-talbees wa-taghreez found here:ihdarohom.wordpress.com/2010/11/06/كتاب-شرعية-النصح-والزجر-والتحذيرمن-دع/ ]
I am also aware that most of our Salafi scholars consider Ibn Jibreen a Hizbi like Shaikh Ahmad an-Najmi rahimahullah and Shaikh Rabee’ ibn Haadi hafidhuhallah and others. So I admit my mistake and seek Allah’s forgiveness and repent from that.
