Taking a Specific Means to Wake up for Fajr Prayer – Shaikh Ibn ul-Uthaymeen

Question: Oh Virtuous Shaikh, I am a man who observes all the prayers in the masjid and some times I miss Fajr prayer. Three days passed me in which I am unable to be present for it, knowing that I sleep and my intention is to pray qiyyam. I am remorseful, very disturbed if I do not pray the Fajr prayer and this, Oh Shaikh, repeats in a month three or four days. So what do I do? Please give me a verdict. Jazakallahu Khairan

Answer: “It is obligatory upon you to take caution in waking up and place an alarm clock near you. If you are a heavy sleeper, then request someone from your family to come to you and wake you up. If there is no one in your house, then request someone from your brothers to wake you up via the telephone. If Allah knows that your intention is truthful and you are determined to fulfill the Fajr prayer in its time with the congregation, then Allah will aid you. This is because Allah turns towards his servants more than the servant turns towards his Lord”.
