Ruling on Giving an Admonishment between the Taraweeh Prayers Shaikh Ibn ul-Uthaymeen

Question: We have with us in Kuwait an admonishment after four rakat in the night prayer. Is this allowed? If it is allowed, how is this admonishment performed?

Answer: That which I see is not to do it. First, it is not from the guidance of the salaf.

Second, some people must come to tahajjud and then leave to their house. This is an impediment and boredom for them and a dislike for these admonishments. If the admonishment is not accepted, its harm is more than its benefit. Like this, the Messenger (ﷺ) had concern in giving his Companions an admonishment and he did not burden them and repeat. So I see abandoning it is more deserving. So if the Imam wants to admonish the people, then let it be at the last thing when the prayer ends so the people have their choice, if they want they can stay and of they want they can leave”.
