Ruling on Raising the Head Covering due to a Woman Tying her Hair- Shaikh Ibn ul-Uthaymeen

Question: My hair is long and if I tie it, its form raises the head covering in front of the men. So is it allowed knowing that I do not tie the hair so as to attract the gaze of men?

Answer: “If you tie it to attract the gaze of men, then no doubt this is displaying her body and is not allowed because it causes fitnah. As for if it is less than that, then there is no harm in it, however, what is more deserving is leaving off everything that can possibly cause fitnah”
